The Practice
Institutional Purpose
Silencia Private was established as a specialist practice dedicated to identity resilience for men operating under sustained responsibility.
In most professional environments, individuals are trained to optimise performance within a defined structure. Rarely is the internal structure itself examined.
Silencia addresses this gap.
The work focuses on the internal operating position from which leadership, decisions, and conduct originate. When that position remains undefined, identity often becomes fused with role, status, or external expectation.
Silencia exists to establish a disciplined internal standard that remains stable regardless of circumstance.
The Silencia Identity Architecture™
The practice applies the Silencia Identity Architecture™, a four-domain framework designed to establish a Personal Operating Standard independent of role.
The architecture examines identity through four domains:
Identity Separation
Clarifying identity independent of professional function.
Personal Operating Standard
Codifying the behavioural principles governing conduct and decision-making.
Structural Alignment
Ensuring commitments, environment, and responsibilities reflect the defined standard.
Continuity Under Change
Ensuring identity stability across transition, scrutiny, success, or reduced visibility.
This architecture forms the intellectual foundation of all work conducted within the practice.
Professional Formation
Silencia Private was established by Derek T. Walsh.
Derek is an alumnus of Trinity College Dublin, holding a Level 9 postgraduate qualification with distinction in Innovation and Enterprise Development, with formal study in organisational leadership, strategic development, and performance systems.
His professional background spans entrepreneurship, senior operational leadership, performance consultancy, and advisory roles across complex business and professional sporting environments.
He has held C-suite responsibility, led cross-functional teams, and operated in environments where clarity under pressure was non-negotiable.
He has served as a High-Performance Consultant within international sport and has coached both amateur and professional athletes across multiple disciplines.
Over more than a decade he has advised executives, entrepreneurs, athletes, and senior professionals on behavioural clarity, decision architecture, and stability under pressure.
Silencia represents the formal convergence of these disciplines into a structured identity recalibration model.
Practice Applications
The Silencia Identity Architecture™ is applied through two forms of engagement.
Silencia Private
The flagship engagement of the practice.
A structured in-person identity architecture process conducted privately and in limited number each year.
Executive Advisory Engagements
In addition to the flagship engagement, the practice offers a small number of advisory engagements for executives and leadership teams.
These engagements apply the same architectural principles to leadership decision-making, professional conduct, and organisational responsibility.
Operating Model
All work within the practice is conducted:
• privately
• in person
• in limited number each year
This ensures the depth and seriousness required for structural identity work.
Institutional Position
Silencia Private is not coaching, therapy, or performance optimisation.
It is the disciplined examination and establishment of a Personal Operating Standard capable of governing conduct across changing circumstances.
